Registration now open for the Research Symposium at NAAEE in Puerto Rico

On behalf of the organising committee, we’d like to encourage you to register for this exciting event, held October 17-18.

This year’s event will have 3 tracks for keynotes and concurrent sessions:

  1. Research challenges and opportunities at Tbilisi+40
  2. Intergenerational conversations about the past, present, and future of EE research
  3. Mainstays and innovations at the Research Symposium

Participants at the event can also join live eeHACK sessions to hack #enviroed, participate in the field session, “EE Research at El Yunque National Forest” or network at the research dinner.

Full details in the extract from the registration packet, and at the link. Follow the discussion online during the event via the eePRO research and evaluation group, and #NAAEE2017 on social media.

Start the week by reflecting on the significance of Tbilisi for #enviroed, 40 years on

The journal’s founding editor, William Scott, offers an audio commentary on Tbilisi Recommendation Two, over at the eeLEARN website.

Recommendation Two articulates the goals, objectives, and guiding principles of #enviroed.

What would your commentary be? And do you agree with Bill’s final words, that we now need something more ‘inclusive’?

“Imagine a World … Tbilisi+40”

What is our vision for the field? How can we best build on the past 40+ years to create a more vibrant, inclusive, and effective field? How do we uphold the values that support a healthier, equitable, and more sustainable future for all?

Our 46th Annual Conference will look ahead to imagine the type of world we want and how our field can help us achieve our vision.

As has happened every 10 years since the first International Conference on Environmental Education in Tbilisi, Georgia, in 1977, environmental education leaders and practitioners from around the world will meet to reflect on progress in the field, share best practices, and create a positive path forward.

We look forward to imagining the type of world we want to create with you in Puerto Rico.

NAAEE’s annual Research Symposium brings together more than 150 new and experienced researchers from around the globe to explore the current state and future directions of environmental education research and to advance the use of practices proven to be effective.

The two-day Symposium facilitates discussion about ongoing research, fosters dialogue about research-community partnerships, and provides opportunities for graduate students and others to develop and expand their research skills.

In 2017, Symposium sessions will focus on three tracks:

– Research challenges and opportunities at Tbilisi+40
– Intergenerational conversations about the past, present, and future of EE
– Mainstays and innovations at the Research Symposium
